Life Transition Therapy, Inc:

is a private holistic and mental health clinic that has been providing various therapeutic treatment modalities for the past twenty two years. Our approach focuses on mindfully helping people transition through distressful situations so they will be better prepared for emotional stress and future changes. We emphasize teaching effective tools and self help skills.


As people, we are always undergoing change, but sometimes we lack the skills and perceptions to bring the mind and body in harmony. Mindless lifestyles can invite illnesses, which create suffering for ourselves and others. Addictions that alter moods, minds and bodies are one of the greatest threats. We are seldom ready for the unexpected. We lack appropriate coping skills. The flow of life itself is traumatic. Even living a mindful life we age and die. Accepting and loving ourselves is a process most of us need to learn. When balance is restored, life's transitions take place in a less disruptive manner.

Medical science and spiritual methods have come into a more harmonious coexistence in recent years. It is now possible to offer Breath work, and other non-western medical modalities as a major approach to healing trauma. Breath therapy (ancient practice) is a primary agent in the healing from traumatic events. Trauma leads to dissociation from one’s body especially the autonomic nervous system. If this goes untreated, dissociation becomes the norm in the life of a person. Although dissociation is a safety mechanism for the human spirit, people suffering from post traumatic stress disorder tend to over- interpret sensory input as a recurrence of past trauma. For optimal bodily/mind function one needs to be able to observe and be aware of one’s reactions, understand one’s attempts to cope, modify unhealthy behaviors and learn to adjust.

Mindfulness is an attitude that generates insight and a state of awakeness in the body and mind. Mindfulness includes learning and applying skillful methods to bringing balance and harmony into memories of past traumas. In addition to regular outpatient treatment, Life Transition Therapy, Inc. provides private, very discrete, and customized intensive out-patient rehabilitation for individuals, couples, and families. Our professional staff promotes mindfulness through a variety of treatment modalities. Through psychotherapy, acupuncture, ayurveda, meditation, therapeutic massage, and body awareness, with learned skills, you can learn to master specific skills to live life more mindfully and support your healing process.
